ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A jury has convicted a 17-year-old in the 2014 shooting death of a man inside a Rochester minimart.
The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office says Rasaan Taylor was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter on Wednesday. Taylor entered the S&S Minimart in January 2014 with a sawed-off shotgun and fatally shot 21-year-old Samuel Gibson. Prosecutors say the attack was unprovoked.
Taylor was 15 at the time of the shooting.
Taylor is set to be sentenced on June 19 in Monroe County Court. He was prosecuted as a juvenile and could face up to 10 years in prison.
