MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Tobacco Commission says a proposed industrial project could bring up to 1,000 jobs to Halifax County.
The Danville Register & Bee (https://bit.ly/1Ls7geB ) reports that the commission voted on Thursday at a meeting in Martinsville to use about $5 million to pursue the project. The company wasn’t identified.
Commission member Del. Danny R. Marshall says Halifax County is one of several U.S. locations being considered for the project.
