LOCKPORT, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve identified a decomposed body found in the woods behind a western New York restaurant.
Public works employees in the Niagara County city of Lockport found the body Thursday afternoon in a heavily wooded area behind the Wide Waters restaurant.
Police say they’ve identified the remains but are withholding the name until relatives are notified.
The county coroner says the remains are those of a male, but the person’s age and cause of death are undetermined because of the condition of the body.
The cause of death is being investigated.
A full autopsy will be conducted at the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office in Buffalo Friday morning.
