FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Firefighters in Flagstaff say a 16-year-old boy is dead and a woman is in serious condition after their vehicle rolled over on Interstate 40.
Crews from the Summit Fire District responded to the one-vehicle crash Friday afternoon east of Flagstaff.
Summit Fire Capt. Mike Allen says the vehicle was traveling in the westbound lanes when it went off the highway for an unknown reason.
Allen says the vehicle rolled several times.
The 16-year-old driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. A 56-year-old female passenger had to be extricated from the car and is hospitalized in serious condition.
Both were the only occupants of the car.
Allen says the cause is still under investigation.
