GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A 22-year-old North Carolina man has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting into a car and killing a 26-year-old woman in Greenville.

Local media outlets report Daitrieyuaon “Day-Day” Parker was found guilty Friday of first-degree murder for the Aug. 17, 2013, death of Ceira Clark.

Parker’s co-defendants testified he was the shooter. His cousin, Allysia Parker, and Timothy Reaves also face murder charges.

Allysia Parker says her cousin was the front passenger in her car when he rolled down the window and shot into Clark’s car at a stoplight about 3:30 a.m., following a fight at a gas station.

In the courtroom, “Day-Day” Parker thanked his supporters but offered no apology.

A fight erupted outside the Pitt County Courthouse after the verdict. Two men were arrested.
