CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Recent figures from the U.S. Census Bureau indicate that no city in Illinois with 50,000 or more people has grown as fast the past few years as Champaign.

As The News-Gazette in Champaign notes (https://bit.ly/1FDnOPR ) though, nationally 314 U.S. cities grew at faster rates over that period.

Another nearby city was among the leaders in population loss over that period.
