FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a couple accused of causing a collision in San Tan Valley that killed a 17-year-old boy.
Pinal County Sheriff’s officials said Saturday that 33-year-old Boyd Palmer has been booked on charges of manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal collision.
Thirty-six-year-old Megan Palmer faces charges of hindering prosecution and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
They say Boyd Palmer was driving a Chevy Tahoe that slammed into a van carrying Jeff and Lisa Connely and their disabled son, Cullen.
The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Sheriff’s officials say the Palmers left the crash scene, abandoned their vehicle and then got a stranger to give them a ride home.
Investigators say license plate information from a witness led them to the suspects.
