PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on the Gila River Indian Community.

They say the vehicle involved in Thursday night’s crash was a marked Gila River Police Department vehicle.

DPS says the patrol vehicle allegedly struck an 18-year-old man who was walking in the roadway.

The pedestrian died from his injuries after being transported to the Chandler Regional Medical Center.
