AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Republican Gov. Paul LePage and first lady Ann LePage are honoring veterans this weekend ahead of Memorial Day.

They will join volunteers Saturday at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta to place American flags on veterans’ gravestones. Volunteers will also place flags at ceremonies in Caribou and Springvale on Saturday.

LePage will deliver remarks on Monday at an event in Windham that will mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. The first lady will attend a Memorial day ceremony at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery later on Monday.
