INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Police in Indianapolis say a man who was fatally hit on a city street might have been struck by five vehicles that didn’t stop to help.

Police say the 38-year-old man was first hit Friday night on the roadway of a five-lane on the city’s northwest side. Witnesses told investigators that several other vehicles also hit the man without stopping.

Witnesses described one of the vehicles as tan or bronze four-door car, but weren’t able to describe the other vehicles.

Police didn’t say what the man was doing when he was hit. The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released.
