Ohio boy, 4, dies after struck by father’s car in driveway

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (AP) - Police in northeast Ohio say a 4-year-old boy struck when his father pulled into the driveway has died from his injuries.

Police say the boy was struck around 9:45 Saturday morning. The boy’s 40-year-old father was pulling his Hummer into the driveway of their Willoughby home when the boy rode his toy front-end loader in front of the vehicle. The Hummer struck the boy, who was transported to a nearby hospital and later died from his injuries.

Willoughby police continue to investigate, but say they don’t suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Police didn’t immediately release the names of the boy and his father.
