TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Officials from an Ohio zoo are planning to add a giraffe-feeding platform, aerial course and improvements to an event pavilion.

Officials at the Toledo Zoo tell the Toledo Blade (https://bit.ly/1HyBtr2) they will submit plans for $2.75 million in improvements to the Toledo Plan Commission.

An elevated obstacle course is being planned over the Africa! exhibit along with a zip line.

The proposed enclosure of the Nairobi Pavilion will allow the zoo to host private events all year long for about 600 people at a time.

Officials expect the review to last 30 days. If approved, construction on the aerial course and giraffe-feeding attractions could start as soon as September and open in spring 2016.

Construction on the Nairobi Pavilion would begin summer of 2016 and reopen the following year.
