WAGNER, S.D. (AP) - A man Wagner authorities say knocked a police officer unconscious during a traffic stop is being held in the Charles Mix County Jail.
KELO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1AqCrWw ) the man allegedly punched the Wagner police officer in the face after he pulled him over Friday night. Police say the suspect ran a red light.
Authorities say the suspect tried to flee after striking the officer but another office subdued him with a Taser.
Police say the officer was knocked unconscious, hitting his head on the ground. He is being treated at a Sioux Falls hospital.
