MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A third woman has been charged with cashing counterfeit payroll checks in north Iowa.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1AqBb5N ) that 19-year-old Keyera Coleman, of Des Moines, is charged with second-degree theft and conspiracy to commit theft.
Coleman and co-defendants - 22-year-old Carli Taylor Ohnemus, of Indianola, and 19-year-old Angela Jefferson, of Des Moines - are accused of cashing more than $3,900 in phony payroll checks at three Mason City groceries in February.
Jefferson pleaded guilty and will be sentenced July 1.
Ohnemus has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to stand trial June 30 on charges of second-degree theft and conspiracy to commit theft.
Coleman remained in the Polk County Jail on Saturday and could not be reached for comment.
