CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say an elderly woman on a motorized scooter was struck and killed by a freight train in western Pennsylvania.

Investigators in Allegheny County said the woman was trying to cross the tracks in Coraopolis when she was hit by the train at about 11:15 a.m. Friday.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as 79-year-old Anna Shkraba, who lived not far from the accident scene.

CSX said the train was coming from Baltimore and consisted of two locomotives and 101 cars, all but two empty.
