INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Gov. Mike Pence is directing flags at state facilities across Indiana to be flown at half-staff Monday in honor of Memorial Day.

The governor’s office says flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until noon Monday.

Pence also is asking businesses and state residents to lower their flags to half-staff to pay tribute to the men and women who have lost their lives defending the nation.

Pence is scheduled to offer remarks Monday during a Memorial Day service at Hoosier Patriot Memorial in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
