KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) - Key West’s famed Duval Street will become even more colorful with new rainbow-colored crosswalks.

The crosswalks will be painted this week at the intersection of Duval and Petronia streets, just a couple blocks away from American author Ernest Hemingway’s Key West home.

The project will officially be unveiled June 10 for the start of the five-day Key West Pride festival.

Key West Business Guild Executive Director Matt Hon tells The Miami Herald (https://hrld.us/1IT1WCS ) that donations helped cover the $4,000 cost for the painting.

Similar rainbow crosswalks can be found in San Francisco, Philadelphia, Hollywood, California and Austin, Texas.
