LOVINGTON, N.M. (AP) - The Lovington School Board has appointed interim superintendent LeAnne Gandy as the district’s permanent schools chief.
The Hobbs News-Sun reports (https://goo.gl/ZTnb89) that the board voted Wednesday to name Gandy superintendent after a special executive session.
Gandy’s current contract is through June 30, finishing out former Superintendent Darin Manes’ contract after he resigned earlier this year.
School Board President Dymorie Maker says Gandy’s salary was set at $118,000 with her longevity increments.
Gandy previously held the position of assistant superintendent in Lovington for 12 years.
