WESTERLY, R.I. (AP) - Police say a 28-year-old man has died after an apparent fall at a quarry in Westerly.

The town’s police chief says officers were called to Armetta Sand & Stone at about 2 a.m. on Sunday and found the man at the base of an 80-100 foot drop.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene but later died. His name has not yet been released.

Police interviewed three other people who were at the quarry at the time but they were not charged and the investigation is continuing.
