MONTICELLO, Ind. (AP) - A northwestern Indiana man wanted on warrants from two states was captured Sunday after a multi-county chase involving nine law enforcement agencies, a sheriff said.

Cary Tatman, 24, of Goodland was captured Sunday morning near the town of Brookston, about 70 miles northwest of Indianapolis, White County Sheriff Patrick Shafer said.

Tatman crashing his truck into a tree and tried to flee on an all-terrain vehicle before being shocked with a stun gun and seized by a police dog, Shafer said.

Before the chase entered White County about 9 a.m. Sunday, police had tried to stop Tatman in Newton and Jasper counties.

Tatman was treated for injuries resulting from his capture, then released to the Newton County Sheriff’s Department.

Tatman was wanted on burglary and theft warrants in Newton County, Indiana, and Iroquois County, Illinois, plus a probation violation warrant out of Marshall County, Indiana. Tatman will face additional criminal charges in White County stemming from the chase, Shafer said.

Two passengers in the truck with Tatman were released after being interviewed by police, Shafer said.
