SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 38-year-old Ogden man is facing more than 12 years in federal prison after he fired at officers trying to arrest him.

Lorenzo Puentes on Thursday pleaded guilty in federal court to assault on a federal officer with a dangerous weapon and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.

Judge Dee Benson sentenced him to 150 months in prison followed by 60 months of supervised release.

Puentes shot at three Special Deputy U.S. Marshals last November when they turned up at an Ogden residence to arrest him on an outstanding warrant.

The warrant was issued in October, after Puentes failed to meet with his probation officer for a previous conviction.
