SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Millard County man has been charged with manslaughter in the 2013 death of his estranged wife.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1KdkvyG ) that police say 61-year-old Lee J. McIntyre gave the woman vodka even though he knew that combining alcohol with her medications could be fatal.
Court documents show that a medical examiner determined that 58-year-old Janet McIntyre died in October 2013 from a toxic mixture of alcohol and drugs.
The documents say that Janet McIntyre had been a regular drinker when her doctor placed her on a strict alcohol restriction because of the numerous medications she was taking.
Prosecutors say her husband knew about the restriction and bought her vodka anyway.
McIntyre’s whereabouts are currently unknown. He refused to give officers his address, insisting that he was homeless.
