HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Police are investigating a pair of early-morning shootings that left two men injured in Hartford.
The Hartford Courant (https://cour.at/1Fx8ymi ) reports the victim of the first shooting has been identified as 54-year-old Augustus Sealy of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Police said the victim was shot at about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday while placing Memorial Day flags on the lawn of the First Church of the Nazarene on Capitol Avenue.
Sealy suffered gunshot wounds to his leg and shoulder and was in stable condition at Hartford Hospital.
Police said witnesses heard gunshots and saw a vehicle flee the scene.
Less than 15 minutes after that incident, 27-year-old Robert Jones was found shot on Garden Street. He’s listed in serious but stable condition at St. Francis Hospital.
Police said there was no initial indication that the shootings were connected.
