BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Soldiers and military veterans can get into any North Dakota State Park for free on Monday.

The state Parks and Recreation Department is waiving admission for soldiers and veterans on Memorial Day to recognize them for their contributions to the country.

The department says it’s a busy weekend at most state parks, with events and activities planned for the unofficial start of summer.

Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park is holding a celebration Monday in honor of the Parks and Recreation Department’s 50th anniversary. Everyone can enter the park free on Memorial Day.
