SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Springfield man who was shot last week has died.

Authorities say 28-year-old Bernard Collado was pronounced dead late Saturday night at Baystate Medical Center, where he had been in critical condition since being shot in the head last Monday in the Liberty Heights neighborhood.

Police spokesman John Delaney tells the Republican newspaper of Springfield (https://bit.ly/1ds2p1N ) that the shooting appeared to be gang-related.

No arrests are reported.

Police Commissioner John Barbieri called the shooting “senseless” and ordered extra patrols in the neighborhood.
