ENUMCLAW, Wash. (AP) - A hospital spokeswoman says one of two boys injured in an explosion outside a home in Enumclaw, Washington, has been released from the hospital.

Susan Gregg of Harborview Medical Center in Seattle says the second boy is still in critical condition and had his first surgery on Monday. Gregg says the operation went well but the 10-year-old still has a long way to go toward recovery.

A fire official says the boys apparently were using gasoline at a campfire on Friday afternoon. The 10-year-old boy suffered burns over 80 percent of his body and was airlifted to Harborview.

The second boy, who is 9 years old, suffered burns to less than 10 percent of his body.

The King County sheriff’s department is investigating the case as a tragic accident.

Enumclaw is about 35 miles southeast of Seattle.
