GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Police say a 4-year-old girl has drowned after her family lost track of her at a Greensboro marina.

Authorities said the family called officials at the marina around 8:30 p.m. Sunday when they could not find her.

Investigators say workers and the family began searching and found the child underwater near a dock.

Officers and paramedics were called, and the child died a short time later at the hospital.

Police are investigating the case and say it appears to be an accidental drowning. The child’s name has not been released.
