Bicyclist dies after struck by truck in southern Illinois

ELSAH TOWNSHIP, Ill. (AP) - Authorities in southern Illinois say a 65-year-old bicyclist died when she was struck by a truck.

Jersey County Coroner Carol R. Admire of Alton was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday afternoon. The (Alton) Telegraph reports (https://bit.ly/1eq3tmW ) she was riding toward Alton on Illinois Route 100 in Jersey County when the accident happened.

The Jersey County sheriff and Illinois State Police are investigating what caused the accident.
