TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) - Authorities in south-central Idaho have dismissed felony aggravated battery charges against a man accused of throwing bleach in the faces of two people during an argument.

The Times-News reports (https://bit.ly/1HGj8Z8) that court records say prosecutors dropped charges last week because 45-year-old John King Bell paid restitution.

A trial was scheduled to start Wednesday in 5th District Court.

Police say that in June 2013 they responded to the Old Towne Lodge Motel in Twin Falls and found a man covering his eyes and a woman covering her ear.

Both said Bell, a motel manager, threw bleach in their faces.

Bell said he asked the man not to speed in the parking lot, and the man got out and started punching him.

Bell said he used the bleach for self-defense.
