TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A sheriff’s deputy is on administrative leave after firing at an armed man outside a Tampa home.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a “shots fired” call at the home late Sunday. At the scene, they found multiple gunshot holes in the home and a Buick LaSabre parked outside.

Authorities say they also encountered an armed man. Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter says Deputy Andrew Glassman fired one shot but missed the man, who dropped his weapon.

Carter said Monday that the man lives at the home and refused to cooperate with investigators. It’s unclear what led to the shots fired at the home and the car.

Another man inside the home was arrested on a Broward County warrant.
