PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Rye High School is celebrating its second Class 2A baseball championship in five years with help from a hidden ball trick.

The Pueblo Chieftain (https://bit.ly/1ceDHk4 ) reports that the Thunderbolts claimed the title with a 12-10 victory over Resurrection Christian in Pueblo Saturday. The hidden ball trick came earlier in the day during its semifinal 9-8 win over Hotchkiss in a game that started in one stadium and ended in another after a rain and lightning delay.

With the tying run on second base, pitcher Luis Ortiz faked an errant pickoff throw to second but never threw the ball. Rye fielders pretended to try to recover the fake throw as the player ran to third. Ortiz tagged him out, ending the game.

A YouTube video of the play had over 500,000 hits Monday.
