GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A weekend standoff in Grand Forks prompted the evacuation of guests at a hotel.

Police say the incident began Saturday morning when the suspect allegedly threatened a person with a gun during a fight in the parking lot of the America’s Best Value Inn.

The 49-year-old man then retreated to his hotel room and held police including a SWAT team at bay for about four hours. About a dozen other hotel guests were evacuated.

The man surrendered after authorities used a stun grenade. He was arrested on a terrorizing charge. Formal charges are pending.
