SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Salt Lake City’s mayor says it took courage for three female police officers to report allegations of sexual harassment by a deputy chief.

Mayor Ralph Becker released a statement late Sunday night calling the allegations unacceptable after an attorney for the officers said they plan to sue the city over their harassment claim.

Becker says his administration will work to prevent similar behavior in the future.

Lawyer Ed Brass says former Deputy Chief Rick Findlay shared an image of two of the female officers in bikinis and a nude photo purportedly of the third female officer, who denies such a photo existed.

Police Chief Chris Burbank has delinked to comment.

Findlay, who resigned last year, has an unlisted phone number and couldn’t be reached for comment.
