OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Corrections Department has released findings on the death of an inmate who was fatally bludgeoned with a plastic food tray inside of a private prison.

The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/1PHX0ER ) reports that the corrections department determined that 30-year-old Bryan Blackburn died April 12 from blunt force trauma. Authorities say they believe Blackburn’s cellmate at the Davis Correctional Facility was high on bath salts at the time.

The corrections department also released information about the March 28 death of 36-year-old Shawn Moore, who was strangled at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.

Authorities say cellmates were the assailants in both cases. Charges haven’t been filed and their names haven’t been released.

The latest figures from the Bureau of Justice Statistics show Oklahoma had the highest prison-homicide rate in the country from 2001-2012.
