Pierre publisher leaves to pursue other opportunities

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Capital Journal Publisher Steve Baker has left the Pierre newspaper to pursue other opportunities in the industry.

The Capital Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1Et7iNa ) that Baker had been publisher for nearly seven years. His last day at the paper was Friday, and he leaves Wick Communications on Tuesday.

Wick Communications Regional Publisher Randy Rickman says a nationwide search is being conducted for Baker’s successor.

Wick Communications is based in Arizona and owns the Capital Journal and the Williston Herald in North Dakota, where Rickman works.
