ATLANTA (AP) - Officials said a state trooper fired at a suspect during a chase, but no one was injured.

Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Tracey Watson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://bit.ly/1HsqxIO) a trooper was trying to stop a car Monday morning for a speeding citation. Watson said the trooper gave chase when the car driven by 34-year-old Johnny Terry of Decatur didn’t stop.

Watson said Terry was driving erratically as he exited Interstate 285, drove over a median and hit a pole. Watson said the trooper fired during the incident.

Watson said Terry had led Suwanee police on a chase earlier Monday, but the trooper didn’t know that during the second pursuit.

Terry faces charges including fleeing or attempting to elude, speeding and reckless driving. It wasn’t clear if he has a lawyer.
