ORLEANS, Mass. (AP) - Orleans police say a motorist who is accused of striking six pedestrians may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
The Cape Cod Times reports that (https://bit.ly/1J0fA5z ) police did not identify the 65-year-old motorist from New York. He is being charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
Police said he showed no signs of impairment and that more charges are possible.
A car struck six women Sunday afternoon, seriously injuring three. They were part of a group of seven women walking together.
None of the victims has been identified.
