LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville International Airport officials have selected a craft and distilling design theme as part of an $8 million renovation of the airport’s terminal.
The Courier-Journal (https://cjky.it/1SyALQJ) reports the Louisville Regional Airport Authority selected the theme last week with guidance from Minneapolis-based Alliance Consulting and members of a community work group.
The words craft and distilling immediately bring to mind Kentucky’s bourbon industry. But airport authority officials say the theme hits on multiple facets of the city - from its connectivity to its manufacturing heritage.
Alliance will incorporate the theme into designs for the renovation, which is the terminal’s first major makeover in a decade.
The coming upgrades will also include lighting and flooring, as well as new escalators and artwork.
