BELLE PLAINE, Iowa (AP) - Train traffic is expected to be halted near Belle Plaine in eastern Iowa on Monday for repairs to a track damaged by a derailment.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (https://bit.ly/1dsOfgM ) that Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says the train traffic through the area was to be stopped around 6 a.m. and resume about 12 hours later. The other track at the scene was reopened on Sunday morning.

Twenty-three cars derailed late Friday night as the 125-car train headed from Nebraska to Illinois. The derailment cause is being investigated.
