ATHENS, N.Y. (AP) - New York State Police are investigating a head-on crash between a car and a motorcycle that left the motorcyclist dead.

Troopers say the fatal accident occurred in the Town of Athens just after 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Authorities say 32-year-old Corey Hoag, of Valatie, died at the scene, while a 12-year-old passenger on Hoag’s motorcycle was airlifted to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries.

The three people in the car were uninjured.

The Town of Athens is on the western shore of the Hudson River about 30 miles south of Albany.
