ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey says there was a light earthquake in Alaska’s Fox Islands region.
The USGS says the magnitude 4.8 quake occurred early Monday at a depth of about 23 miles. The earthquake was located about 60 miles southwest of Nikolski.
The Alaska Earthquake Center says there were no reports of the quake being felt or causing damage.
The Fox Islands are more than 950 miles southwest of Anchorage.
