BROWNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - State police say they have a suspect in custody in the shooting death of a 53-year-old man in the northern Vermont town of Brownington.
Troopers responded to a report Monday morning of a shooting victim. When they arrived on the scene they found Rick Vreeland dead on the ground outside a home.
Through an investigation, state police say they identified the alleged shooter and took that person into custody. They have not released that person’s name. The suspect was then taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers say the suspect and the victim knew each other and have had past disputes. State police continue to investigate.
