MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia University’s graduation weekend is good for businesses in the Morgantown area.
Oliverio’s Ristorante co-owner and manager Polly Washburn tells The Dominion Post (https://bit.ly/1PHOBBa ) that WVU’s graduation is the restaurant’s biggest weekend of the year.
She says the restaurant doubled its normal operating staff and extended its hours during the three days of commencement. The restaurant also rented a refrigerated truck to store extra food.
Greater Morgantown Convention & Visitors Bureau president and CEO Peggy Myers-Smith says a national catfish tournament had to be rescheduled because there weren’t any rooms available for fishermen.
The spring commencement ceremonies were held May 15-May 17.
