MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. (AP) - A 17-year-old from Pittsburgh who police say beat and held his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint has been charged as an adult and jailed.

Police in McKees Rocks say James Blakemore went to the 18-year-old woman’s home hoping to reconcile. When she refused, she says he threatened her with a gun so she called police.

By the time officers arrived about 6 a.m. Monday, Blakemore had left, but police say he returned about 25 minutes later. That’s when police say he kicked in her door, choked the woman and held a gun to her head. The woman told police that Blakemore also burned her shoes and work shirt and kicked a hole through her television.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Blakemore who faces a preliminary hearing on aggravated assault and other charges June 5.
