LYNWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials say two people were killed and two others were injured when the car they were in struck a tree in Lynwood.

Lt. Michael Thomas says the driver apparently lost control early Monday and the car hit the tree and then jumped a curb and skidded across a parking lot into a building.

A man and a woman who were passengers died at the scene. Thomas says the driver and another passenger were hospitalized in unknown condition.

None of the victims have been identified.

The crash is under investigation.
