LOVELL, Maine (AP) - Time is running out for those who think they have the skills to run an inn - and to win an essay contest.

Owner Janice Sage plans to turn over the 210-year-old Center Lovell Inn and Restaurant to the winner of an essay contest, and rules require entries to be postmarked by the end of Tuesday. She plans to announce the winner on June 6.

Sage took ownership of the inn the same way - by winning an essay contest more than two decades ago.

She said previously that she expects more than 7,500 entries, meaning she’d receive more than $900,000 at $125 per entry. She says she plans to use the money for her retirement.
