GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) - A Goodyear high school teacher accused of luring a minor for sexual exploitation has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 31-year-old Jared Blackstone entered his plea Tuesday at his arraignment.

His next scheduled court appearance is July 9.

Blackstone was taken into custody on May 7 after detectives served a search warrant on his home.

He had been teaching at Millennium High School in Goodyear.

School administrators contacted police after the allegation surfaced.

Agua Fria School District officials say Blackstone was immediately removed from the classroom setting after his arrest.

Details of the case haven’t been released by Goodyear police, who say detectives are investigating the allegations.
