MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - An Idaho group is working to educate the public on ways to stay safe during fire season.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1FBs4yb) Idaho Firewise executive director Ivy Dickinson says she’s working on bringing the Boise demonstration landscape that limits fire fuel to Clearwater County and other parts of Idaho.

Dickinson’s group was created after the Idaho State Fire Plan Working Group published a survey in 2007 that showed more education was needed to help people protect their homes and property.

Firewise Communities are throughout the country, with 15 in Idaho including two planned communities constructed and landscaped with fire safety in mind.
