CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire has set a traffic record for Memorial Day, with 302,927 vehicles recorded as passing through the state turnpike system.
That’s an increase of 1.6 percent over last year, which came in second as the busiest Memorial Day traffic-wise with 298,094 vehicles.
Overall weekend traffic, from Friday through Monday, was up 4.8 percent from last year. Traffic at the Hampton tolls was up 7.4 percent and Hooksett was up 8.5 percent.
The statistics, released Tuesday by the Department of Transportation, cover the last 27 years.
