YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A wallet belonging to a woman who disappeared a year ago has been found near a lake in Washtenaw County.
It’s a major break in the search for Tonya Jackson of Ypsilanti Township.
The sheriff’s office says the wallet was found Tuesday near Ford Lake, about a mile from Jackson’s former apartment. Spokesman Derrick Jackson says investigators planned to search the water.
Jackson’s husband, L.V. Jackson, was at the scene.
The 43-year-old Jackson, a mother of three children, was last seen at a Romulus motel with a co-worker in May 2014. There’s been no bank activity or use of her mobile phone. She was driving a 1997 silver Saab SUV.
